Production begins in Cegléd, Hungary, initially in the form of a joint venture.

Laing Thermotech, Inc. is founded in San Diego, USA.

Sales and distribution subsidiaries are established in Japan - a joint venture with Kubota in Osaka until 2000, thereafter as a wholly owned subsidiary.

The Hungarian company is fully integrated into the Laing group.

All companies are consolidated under Laing Holding based in Remseck.
2003
Laing introduces the world's first electronically commutated spherical motor pump.
2004
Laing is awarded with the Innovation Award "Innovationspreis Baden-Württemberg (Dr.-Rudolf-Eberle Preis)".
