Our pumps come in a variety of designs for a variety of uses – and are all reliable, durable, and whisper quiet.
The principle behind the spherical motor is one of simplicity – it has no shaft and only a single bearing ball. This reduces the number of precision-engineered components and provides a number of other advantages. It is also the only small pump design with a self-aligning bearing, which ensures quiet operation over the entire lifetime. The ultra-hard-wearing ceramic bearing ball and carbon graphite cup make for a winning combination and extra-long service life. Laing pumps are lubricated and cooled by the liquid that they pump, this eliminates the need for external maintenance. Each pump contains a self-cleaning bearing and deposits such as lime and scale cannot block it. The smaller bearing means our pumps consume less power, and because spherical motors do not require a minimum speed, they are fully adjustable. Laing pumps can be found in heating devices from leading companies. They are also used in many areas of everyday life – at work and in the home – pumping hot water, in hydraulic heating systems, computers, medical and laboratory equipment, handling chemicals, in vending machines and whirlpools, are to name but a few. The spherical motor principle now considered by scientists from the German Aerospace Center in Stuttgart who are currently working on a new drive for a small plane named HyFish. >Hydrogen is the power source of the plane designed like a fish. The Vision of the scientist from the Institute of Technical Thermodynamics and its partners is an extreme environment protecting plane. And at the heart of the plane: a spherical motor pump invented by Laing.
